RAISIN TREAT COOKIES - Barbara Promersberger
1 cup raisins
1cup water
1tsp soda

1cup shortening
1cup sugar
2 eggs
1tsp vanilla

2cups oat meal
2cups all purpose flour
1/4tsp salt
1tsp cinnamon
1tsp nutmeg
1/2cup chopped nuts
Simmer raisins in water to plump, set aside to cool. Drain and keep juice. Add enough water to juice to make 1/2 cup. Stir soda into juice.

In a separate bowl combine dry ingredients.

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add liquid then add dry incredients and raisins.

Drop by rounded tablespoon onto cookie sheet. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
